Recently, read an awesome book series 'Parasol Protectorates' by Gail Carriger. Fresh and humourous take on vampires and werewolves. Really hope the series will be adapted for tv or the big screen. Ms Carriger has created an interesting universe where vampires and werewolves co-exists with humans (even royalty) in victorian London. The protaganist, Alexia Tarabotti, is a "preternatural". If you want to know what that is, please check out the books from Orbit Publishing and be pleasantly surprised. Yen Press has also released the books in manga format. Can't believe I have never heard of the books (which has been in circulation for a long time now) until recently. Although categorized as "steampunk" the books have a wide fan base and will also appeal to young adults.
